About Us

We met on March 31, 2007 in line at Wendy’s. I walked into Wendy’s with my friend Nneka and saw J standing there in line looking very handsome. He turned around and we both kind of mouthed "hi". Unfortunately, Nneka kindly said, "Go sit down, I'll order." So off I went to find a seat. Luckily for me, J ended up sitting nearby and after several minutes of smiling at each other he came over and we exchanged numbers. He called later that afternoon and we made plans for the three of us to go out to dinner. After a nice dinner at Macaroni Grill, the three of us made our way over to TGI Fridays for some drinks. Over the next couple of weeks J and I got to know each other better. We said “I love you” and became "official" on April 21, 2007. Then, on a beautiful afternoon in Hawaii a little over a month later (June 3rd) J asked me to marry him and of course I said yes! We had a fairly long engagement and finally said "I do" on July 27, 2008.

We did it!

After a long 2ww* I finally took a home pregnancy test last night and got the answer that we were looking for: We're pregnant! J and I are are so excited! We're looking forward to the journey of pregnancy and even more to meeting our little one next June. Based off of my ovulation date I am 4 weeks pregnant today and the estimated due date is June 21st, 2011. I took the test last night right when J got home from work. The test showed positive results within seconds. We hugged, we cried, we took pictures of the test... it was a great moment, one I'll never forget. After that, we went out to Macaroni Grill for a celebratory dinner and to Barnes & Noble where we picked up "my pregnancy journal". I can't wait to start filling it out!

Woo Hoo with a side of Ugh.

Way back in June we ordered a beautiful couch, love seat and accent chair from Ethan Allen. Three months later they finally got delivered. The couch and love seat looked great, just what we ordered-- that's the Woo Hoo! Now for the Ugh-- the wood stain on the accent chair was messed up and we had to "refuse delivery". I felt bad seeing it be reloaded onto the truck, but I would have felt worse seeing an uneven stain on the new chair we waited so long for. Right now all of this stuff is in storage waiting for us to move to Texas. On the bright side, they've apparently repaired the chair and it's rescheduled for delivery next weekend. I hope it looks good!
